# TanQR/Lipa Namba Overview

> Accept payments with a QR code and Lipa Namba powered by TIPS

**TanQR/Lipa Namba** gives your business one QR code and Lipa Namba for collecting payments. Customers do not need a specific app — they can scan your QR code or pay using your Lipa Namba through mobile money USSD menus and bank channels.

It is powered by **TIPS**, with all MNOs and banks integrated. Customers can pay from any mobile money wallet or bank connected to TIPS. It works for both **physical stores** and **online stores**.

  TanQR/Lipa Namba payments are **instant**. Successful payments appear in your [Merchant Dashboard](https://merchant.clickpesa.com) and can trigger [webhook notifications](/home/webhooks) if configured.

## When To Use It

* **Store collections:** Display a QR code or share your Lipa Namba at your counter, kiosk, restaurant, office, or service point.
* **Online collections:** Display or share your QR code and Lipa Namba on your website, checkout page, invoice, or customer message.
* **Simple payments:** Customers enter the amount themselves before confirming payment.
* **Easy setup:** Activate it from the Merchant Dashboard and download a branded poster.

## How It Works

1. **Activate** — Enable TanQR/Lipa Namba in your [Merchant Dashboard](https://merchant.clickpesa.com) under **Settings → Collection**.
2. **Display or share** — Print your poster, show your QR code, or share your Lipa Namba.
3. **Customer pays** — The customer scans your QR code or pays using your Lipa Namba through USSD or bank channels, enters the amount, and confirms.
4. **You get paid** — The payment is recorded instantly in your ClickPesa account.
