# Set Up CRDB Direct Debit

> Activate CRDB Direct Debit in the ClickPesa Merchant Dashboard

## Before You Start

Make sure you have:

* A **verified ClickPesa merchant account** with completed [KYC](/dashboard/settings/kyc)
* The **CRDB Direct Debit activation fee** (**250,000 TZS**) ready to pay when prompted

  CRDB Direct Debit cannot be enabled until KYC is approved. See [limits before KYC approval](/home/onboarding#limits-before-kyc-approval).

## Activation Steps

### 1. Open Collection Settings

1. Log in to your [Merchant Dashboard](https://merchant.clickpesa.com).
2. Go to **Settings → Collection**, or open **Get Started → Payment Methods**.
3. Find **CRDB Direct Debit** under online / checkout collection methods.

### 2. Complete KYC (if not already done)

If your account is not yet verified, complete KYC under **Settings → KYC** before activation.

### 3. Pay the Activation Fee

Toggle on **CRDB Direct Debit** and complete the one-time activation payment of **250,000 TZS** when prompted.

### 4. Confirm the Method Is Active

After successful payment and activation:

* **CRDB Direct Debit** shows as active in Collection settings
* You can create [Payment Plans](/crdb-direct-debit/payment-plans) that collect via Direct Debit
* API applications with **Collection API** access can [request mandate approvals](/crdb-direct-debit/api-overview)

## Managing Direct Debit

* **View status** anytime under **Settings → Collection**.
* **Toggle the method** on or off using the switch next to CRDB Direct Debit (platform availability and your activation still apply).
* **Create plans** from **Payment Plans** in the sidebar, or from a [customer](/dashboard/customers) profile.
* **Track payments** in [Payments](/dashboard/transactions/payments) with channel **CRDB DIRECT DEBIT MANDATE**.
